Just for Men
"I thought I was getting help for insomnia. And sure, I'm sleeping again which is amazing. But it's so much better than that. I'm more connected to my spouse than ever before. And I feel a bond with my son I can't even describe. I was so worried, given how abusive my dad was, that I would never feel this deep love. I can't thank you enough."
The men I work with have big hearts. They tend to be smart, capable, and committed. But often they feel stuck in ways they can't quite name.
Does This Sound Like You?
You Might Be Here Because You…
- Find yourself yelling at your kids over little things
- Worry about disappointing your spouse
- Feel stressed about work and money and can't let yourself relax
- Just need someone to talk to — a safe place to hear yourself think
Why It's Hard
The World Is Hard on Men
For all the talk of male privilege, individually, a lot of men feel very alone. Many had fathers who didn't model male friendship or vulnerability — and maybe even shamed vulnerability.
But you're not just a guy. You're a person. Being human means having all the emotions — worry, sadness, loneliness, all the feels. Our culture shames men into expressing only irritation and triumph. That's just not human.
I love working with guys. It always feels sacred when a man really opens up in therapy — because I know how hard trust can be.
I've helped a lot of men connect to their feelings, their spouses, their kids, their friends, and their careers in ways they didn't even know were missing. Often the presenting issue — stress and anxiety, insomnia, irritability — turns out to be rooted in the same patterns of self-neglect and missing boundaries that I work on with all my clients.
