Not just talk for fifty minutes, but actually learn new ways of thinking and being, developing self-care and self-compassion that's genuine, healing, and transformative.
You are capable, thoughtful, and dependable. You know how to comport yourself. You know how to play well with others. But that ability comes at a price. It's hard to be honest and real with others.
I have a special affinity for:
You'll have time to vent, to share what's happening that's no longer working for you — but we're not going to spend whole sessions there. You will learn to listen to your body, to honor and tend to your emotions, and to communicate more honestly and authentically when you feel ready.
I am committed to gentleness, never pushing you to do anything that doesn't feel right. At the same time, I will help you develop a supportive inner voice that can help you feel safe enough to take small, manageable steps toward creating a life you love.
This works best for people who are relatively stable and not in acute crisis. As you build your own capacity to give yourself the emotional support you need, you may choose to shift to monthly sessions. This often provides enough support as you enter the final stage of therapy — learning to cherish yourself. Once you feel ready to stop, it's always fine to reach out for as-needed sessions, for those times when life gets hard.
